I'm Sari Kimbell and I've done just about everything in the food industry. I have helped hundreds of packaged food business entrepreneurs and now I want to help you make your delicious dream a reality. Whether you want to be successful at farmer's markets, online, or wholesale on the store shelves, Food Business Success is your secret ingredient. I will show you how to avoid an expensive hobby, and instead run a profitable food business. Now let's jump.

Hey there, thanks for joining me this week. I am celebrating a small win of getting to 10 podcasts, this is week 10. And I've even put out a couple of bonus episodes, which have been so fun. But you guys know from the first podcast, I was a little nervous, a little afraid that I would not be able to deliver great content every week. And I am giving myself, you know, a fist pump and a high five for that. That actually is great segue into today's topic that is all about celebrating your wins, celebrating your accomplishments. Because a lot of you are not doing this. A lot of you are really hard on yourself. And you quickly dismiss your wins and your success as a fluke. And look for all the problems and all the next things. So I am really excited to record this podcast. It's something I knew I wanted to do at the beginning. And it's been kind of sitting simmering on the back burner. And this is definitely the week to do it. It's, it's funny how, you know, there's been a lot of like tough love podcasts about doing hard things and overcoming obstacles, and getting uncomfortable or getting comfortable with discomfort. But this one just really ties in nicely to this week. And I've had so many great calls this week with clients and emails about small wins. And so it's super fun. It's funny how my energy kind of aligns with their energy and vice versa. And so super fun to talk about some wins that my clients are getting, and hopefully inspire you. And I really want to inspire you to adopt this practice of celebrating small wins.

So I have some practical tools that I really want you to implement into your every day. But first I want to talk about kind of the overall this overall concept of celebrating your wins every day. You know, it's a long road to start and grow a packaged food business into that dream. I know so many of you have a big dream of being in grocery stores being in national chains, being a top seller on Amazon or just being you know, really successful having great sales at farmer's markets or your own website. Some even have like pickups and food or you're doing food service. But whatever your goal is, it is a long road. And if you're just starting out with an idea, as so many of you are that I'm talking to, which is awesome. It's so exciting that so many of you are, you know, ready to commit and have a hard why and are excited about starting. But that process to get to the physical product of even having something to sell is a long road. And for those of you who have done it, you know this to be true and certainly some products are easier than others. But you know, we're talking three to six months to even get your product to market and then you know, I always look at a three year plan to to become profitable. So it's so important if you're going to keep going that you find those small wins all along the way. It is the only thing that is going to get you to where you want to go. If you're only going to celebrate when you've achieved that big goal, I don't even know that you're going to get there honestly. I think you're going to feel yourself on. It's going to be a hard road you're going to feel yourself with fear and perfectionism. You know this an inadequacy and just like this grind and it's not going to be that fun. And you know, my whole philosophy and something I really believe in and when I work with people is like, we're gonna have fun. This is a fun journey, we're talking about food, it's delicious. So I want the journey to be fun and not just having you grind it out. And, you know, really force yourself to do this, because at the end of the day, you're not gonna love your business either. Alright, so this is going to feel uncomfortable at first.

I work with a lot of perfectionist, I am a recovering perfectionist myself. And I know a lot of you, like I said, are so hard on yourselves, you just beat yourself up for all the little things that you don't get right. And the reality is like, that's what we are meant to do. Our brains are looking for problems, like that is how we are wired. We aren't wired to to celebrate the successes. I want to encourage you to expand your definition of what success is, to look for the little things, those little wins. So think about when you actually do have success, big or small, think about one thing that's been a success this week or last week, it could be in your business, it could be in your personal life, like what is one small win? And you're probably you probably dismissed it as like a fluke, and that it's not repeatable, like, yeah, or like, it wasn't that hard, right? But if we dig in, and we start noticing the little things, think about the energy that is created when you are like in the energy of winning. I am winning every day, and your brain starts looking for evidence of that. If you want to look for negative and you know how you screwed up, you're gonna find a lot of evidence for that. But if you make these shifts, these small shifts and you start training, retraining your brain and practice celebrating small wins, you're going to see a big shift in your energy and what you can accomplish. So I really want you to celebrate every win. Every day you make a practice of celebrating a win with purpose. And we want to practice this, make this a daily practice so that we can create more wins. Like I said, your brain will start noticing all the wins. And again, think about the energy when you're like, Yes, that was a success. I did that. And you take full ownership of the results, that you are doing great things that you did something hard, you are being asked to do hard things to be uncomfortable. And you have to get into an energy of I am winning, I am successful. You're doing hard things. And sometimes those might be a fail. You do that first Instagram Live that Facebook Live you, you know you do you go to that first farmers market. And sometimes it could be an actual fail. But you have to celebrate the effort that you put into it, that you actually did the hard thing that in itself is a win. And think about if you feel like you're losing all the time. Like I screwed that up, oh, I failed at that, that sucked, right? You are not going to want to keep working on your business, you're going to want to go you know, get that ice cream out or pour that drink or distract yourself in some other way. You're not going to want to keep working on your business. And at the beginning, it isn't going to be it can't be about the money, it can be about that big goal, it has to be broken down into small, tiny, everyday wins.

Here's some of my practical tips. I really want you to start a success file. So it could be like I put mine in notes on my Apple products so that they're in all the places. You could start a Word document or a Google Doc, anything where you can capture those small wins. So many of my clients this week have just been like having those awesome successes. And I was talking to one of them on our zoom call and I was like, are you guys writing this down? I mean, you're gonna get no like, you're gonna have a week where things are just crap and nothing's working and you need to be able to go back and remind yourself like, we do so many hard things and then we just dismiss them as flukes and then we keep doing hard things. There's going to be times when it doesn't work out but we need to remind ourselves how far we've come and that there are all these great successes.

This week, we got Brady up on Walmart, on the online store. And that was a big accomplishment for sure. That was some work that had to go into that. I helped build Mode C's Shopify website qnd now it's so fun to see orders coming in. And she's just thrilled with the results of that. I have a client that we're doing a rebrand. And we decided on a name and got the trademark submitted. So that's a huge win. My client in Hawaii, she texted me and said, Yeah, I got into five new stores. And you know, just looking back at her overall, like number of markets or grocery stores that she's gotten into and celebrating that client in Food Business Success, sent me a note that she, she got this machine to try out this vacuum sealing. And it was crazy. It was like this machine barely fit into her trunk. It was a lot of money. But she wanted to even test this, we needed to test it to see if this process is retort process was going to work for her products. And she did it. She got the machine, she it was heavier than her she figured out how to get it out of her trunk, she tried it. And we know that it the process now is going to work and she's actually going to send the machine back and get a little different one so that it's not quite so- it's a little unruly for, for being like her size. It's like challenging to use, but we know that the recipe works, we know that the process works. So that's a huge win for her. I've had clients start new markets and like make more money than they ever have at a market. And you know, we got to celebrate those things. So keep a success file that will really help keep you motivated when there are those challenging weeks, when things are not working out.

I also this is gonna sound crazy, but you know, so many of you are solopreneurs, I'm a solopreneur. I work from home, as many of you are and you know, it can be a really lonely process. And the reality is when you don't have anyone around you just kind of like you're like oh yeah, that was cool. Yeah. Okay. And then you like go on to the next thing. And I do this. I do not stop. It's not, we're not wired to stop and recognize the winds, right? So when something great happens, or even just a little thing. I get a new application for Food Business Success. I have a great call and someone's like, yep, I'm in. I sign a new client. But it can also just be little things like I did that Instagram Live or I got that video up or I recorded a podcast. I stopped, just take five seconds, stop and do something physical that like gets your body involved. So I give myself a high five, like a single high five, right? So like, just stop and be like yes, high five. Or you could give yourself some snaps or ring a bell like think about like what is something physical that you can connect in your whole body and not just be like yeah, okay, that was cool. Move on. So a physical recognition super important and literally like, you'll feel a little silly, but that's actually kind of the fun is like just stopping for a second be like yeah, I thought that was badass. I'm awesome. Think about getting a success buddy or a place that you can share your wins. A great place to do this is in the Food Business Success private Facebook group. So go over and join that the link is in the show notes. But I want you to like post in there we are there to cheer you on. We're there to celebrate you. I want you to post

every little win like that would be amazing. If you guys were like did my video, got my website up? Oh, that's another one a client we turned on her website and orders are coming in and that's super fun and exciting for her right? So orders are coming in or the websites on or I got you know an influencer sold some of my product, start a new market, whatever it is, like go and post on that Facebook group and let's celebrate you or find a buddy and or find a buddy. It could be you know, just somebody in your life that you're like, hey, this isn't bragging but I want a place where we can just like send a quick text and be like, Hey, you know, hashtag winning, got this. Did this. One of my clients, we're doing a giveaway with some other partners. And she was really nervous to take photos. But she did it and we got the landing page set up, and she's so proud of herself. And it's so fun to see that win. So take a minute, I'm a great person. Like, if you're a client of mine, you're in Food Business Success, or a one on one client. I want people to share the wins, I cheer them on, I send them the clapping emojis and say Congrats. And it feels so good to just take a minute and see how far you've come and celebrate those wins. And again, we get in the energy of winning.

There's a great YouTube or not YouTube, Ted Talk by Shawn Ackers, about, when you get into the energy, when you're feeling happy, that you're actually you become 33% more efficient. Isn't that crazy? Like, changing your thoughts to I am winning all the time, I am winning, even when I'm failling instead of like, Oh, here we go. Again. That was a failure, and losing, changing it to I'm winning all the time, I'm winning every day. And you're changing your thought, which helps change your changes, you're feeling you feel competent, you feel happy, you feel like, you know, yes, I can figure this out. You're actually going to become more efficient and be able to get more done. It brings up your intelligence, it brings up your problem solving skills, you become more innovative, you find solutions, like things just come a little bit easier. And you know, I can tell you you guys know from my podcast two weeks ago, that I was definitely in the energy of like, doing hard things and feeling a lot of discomfort. And I really tried to stop and celebrate the little things. But you know, now that it's I did it and got through the discomfort. And I'm in my new place. And I'm looking out at this amazing view with the leaves changing. I have all this light. I have a separate office. I painted the whole place. We got lighting up. Like celebrating these little wins along the way. And this week, I can just tell I'm in this energy of celebrating wins. And clients are coming, people are signing up for Food Business Success, they're applying, they're excited, the wins are coming. It's so fun. So fun. And so you really want to get yourself into that energy because you're you're bringing up the level of your intelligence, that positive emotion, and it keeps keep that negative critical voice that negative energy at bay. Keeps it low. I want you to take full ownership of the result. And that result could be positive. And you got to say like, I did that, right? I took those photos, I figured it out. Don't dismiss it as a fluke. You are doing a you made the choice to even try, right? So give yourself full credit for that result. And of course, if it is a negative result, if it didn't work out, you can still say how what can I change, right? It's not happening to you. You can change something, you can learn from this and turn it into a win. One of the things I started doing a

couple years ago, I heard it on a podcast that you should start every day by making your bed. As soon as you get out of bed, you make your bed. Because I really didn't make my I didn't often make my bed right when I got out of bed. And her reason for this, which is totally true is like you start your day with a success, with a win an accomplishment. I mean, even just stop for a second, make your bed and then stop and give yourself a high five, right? Like you are setting yourself up for the day to win, to be successful. So that's just a little life hack. I got my my daily practice that I I almost every morning. I'm like, yeah, that's a win. I did like if I didn't accomplish anything else today, I made my bed. So even just start there with that little little win.

So I'll wrap this up by just giving you another burst of inspiration to think about what you would be willing to do if you knew you had your own back and you were going to celebrate your win. Even if it was just that you did it and it was a fail, but you actually did it. You did a hard thing. So celebrate that results, celebrate those small wins and you're going to be unstoppable. You are going to be willing to do all the hard things, you're going to be willing to be uncomfortable. If you know that you will have your own back and that you will celebrate. And know that everything that you are doing all the hard stuff, all the learnings, you are being called to do those things if you want to be an entrepreneur and run a successful business, that all of those little things are compounding, they're adding up. And this is what's going to create your overall big goal. It's going to move you closer to what you want. All of these little things move you closer and get you to your big goal, to your big win, your big success. I would love to help you celebrate and cheer you on and celebrate all of those small wins and the big wins. And I know all of the people in the private Facebook group Food Business Success would love to cheer you on too. So if you aren't already in the group, head over there. And let's start celebrating your wins together. I cannot wait to see what we can create. Alright, so that is today's podcast. I love this topic and I want to see you get into the energy of wins. Start that daily. Practice that habit of recognizing your wins, do something physical post, and really start celebrating your wins. You got this you can do hard things you can celebrate your wins. Until next time, have an amazing week.
